for you are blocking me from the moon.
oh ghastly cigarette, for how quickly i am torn
from the beautful sight of a sunset.
forlorn, torn, and tired
i give myself up to a nation so wired
and taken from contact.
hello digital dream,
hello online family,
hello to my new world, where you frown at strangers,
and turn away from the plead of a starving man.
goodbye to a world i hardly every knew,
of fruits and vegetables, straight from the earth,
of families enjoying eachothers company,
and innocent, excited youth.
hello to a place where changing the world means
finding the fastest way to get rich.
goodbye mother nature,
although we were never friends,
i was just beginning to scratch the surface,
when my new world cut you down.
goodbye to a time when men were measured by their characters,
not their riches.
goodbye to individuality,
for it is now against the rules.
hello wired nation,
for i have lost all hope
of holding on to an antique
